NEW IN: Tribute

November 7, 2012

As summer is approaching, I bought my first pair of sandals for this year – the timeless YSL Tribute Patent Sandal (bought here!). Love the tannish nude color as it looks very versatile all year round. Although the heels are pretty high, the comfort has surpassed my expectations. I can walk in them for hours without grimacing. Despite the gorgeous look of them and the “Made-in Italy” stamp – which is rare as there are more prestige fashion houses moving their manufacturing to China lately (*cough* Burberry..Prada..), the practicality of these shoes are definitely worth the high price tag! And now I totally understand why people collect them in multiple colors – it’s an addiction with YSL Tribute!

Lust-worthy shoes. I love the vampy polish you paired with the sandals. YSL makes wonderful classics. I love the Muse bag. You must do an OFTD with these shoes!

Reika November 10, 2012 at 10:59 am

I sure will 🙂

these look great on your feet. i might be wrong but i feel like these shoes are going to be discontinued because there is a new designer (hedi slimane) at ysl…

Reika November 10, 2012 at 11:01 am

I hope not!! *finger crossed* I want them in a glossy metallic color now!

Catherine November 8, 2012 at 8:55 pm

They look amazing!! I heard they are very comfy, I got so many pairs of Louboutins and none is comfy! Btw, I didnt know Prada moved the shoe production to China, I knew about bags tho, so glad all of my Pradas and Burberrys are made in Italy, Im always checking now…
BTW I doubt they will discontinue their best selling sandals.

Reika November 10, 2012 at 11:04 am

Yes me too! I always check the country where they are made in before I buy shoes/bags these days! It’s getting kinda tricky..and some sites don’t even display this information.

I agree Sonya. If Hedi Slimane has changed the name of YSL then I think he will get rid of anything from the previous designer. I have been eyeing these for a while and I may get a pair but with a lower heel. I live in Paris so I may go this weekend.

Reika November 10, 2012 at 11:00 am

Aren’t you lucky to live in Paris!!
I don’t understand why Hedi changed the name of just doesn’t make sense…

RTG November 10, 2012 at 12:57 pm

I think its a little bit of his ego and to show that now the is going to take the house in a new direction. Except for the cosmetics apparently. Also Pierre Berge adores Hedi and is letting him do what he wants. It’s been no secret that Berge did not like Stefano Pilati and did not like Tom Ford when he was designing YSL and you know what a fabulous job Tom did for YSL! So Hedi is the golden boy. Get shopping now! By the way I did not like the mary janes that Hedi did for his first collection. Not very YSL to me!

Nobody understands it. He says that it is a nod to when Monsieur Saint Laurent created the Pret a Porter.

Catherine November 10, 2012 at 10:56 pm

Im living in Paris too and I was on the cocktail where they announced it… I still want to believe they will change it back!!

Dovey November 9, 2012 at 10:31 pm

Hi Reika, these look gorgeous, and it’s wonderful to hear they’re comfortable too!

kelsie Taylor November 10, 2012 at 12:47 am

Love these! They are beautiful! May have to get myself a pair, And I did always wonder why people love them so much and if it was because they may be more comfortable, great to know. Will need to get shopping haha.

Oh wow… I absolutely love this brownish tan color that you chose, Reika! They will definitely go with so many outfits!

I have been really wanting to get my hands on a pair of YSL Tribute this summer, but the fact that I wasn’t able to try them on in store first (as I didn’t have the time to go to Vienna, which is the only city in Austria that has a shop selling this shoe), made me delaying the buy…

Also, I must admit that I’m not a very experienced heels wearer as well, so I’m quite insecure about this too.
