Suqqu Spring 2012 – Blend Color Eye Shadow 11 HIMESANGO Review and Swatches

April 29, 2012

Hi everyone, long time no see! Hope you are all well. I went on a vacation during Easter, and then I have been swamped with work upon return so I decided to take a mini break from blogging. I received a few packages today from all of my blogging friends over the world – can’t thank enough of them! The minute I opened my  long awaited Suqqu Blend Color Eye Shadow HIMESANGO 11 from its Spring 2012 collection, I knew I had to share it with you immediately. My heart is singing when I swiped my fingers across these too-die-for eye shadows.

Different to the eyeshadow quad from the permanent line, the spring collection comes with 5 colors. As a taupe lover I bought shade 11 Himesango.  All shades are foolproof and they layer together beautifully.  If you think the permanent line is not pigmented enough, then this spring Suqqu has delivered an extraordinary eye shadow palette. The pigmentation is richer with an ultra buttery and velvety texture (it almost felt cushiony!). The three shimmery shades contain the finest micro-shimmer, and they apply silky smooth with a delicate gleam . I love the fact that there is always a matte shade included in the palette. Himesango contains an ivory white which feels creamy and serves as an excellent base color. It instantly evens out the lid color and make your eye makeup look “cleaner’.  As I have mentioned in my earlier post, Suqqu eye shadows are the most densely pressed and smoothly milled, so you will never experience any fallout with their eye shadows.

Upper Lid: Applied the peachy shade all over the eye socket, then layered with the taupe shade beginning at the lash line and blending into the crease line. Finished with the lighter chocolate shade intensifying the outer v.

Lower lid: Accentuate the inner corner with the shimmery peachy shade, and rim the outer third with the dark chocolate shade and smudged the taupe shade across.

Reika May 6, 2012 at 1:29 pm

Yes I like it more than the kakitsubata, at least for now!

Claire April 29, 2012 at 10:23 pm

first, none of the palettes got my attention, then all the post about himesango make me want it, lol. it looks great on you! I love the whole look, kinda innocent but strong. the lip colour is devine! I wish I could pull those colours of like you do <3

This palette is gorgeous, I love the look you’ve created with it as well.

Jacqueline April 30, 2012 at 2:56 pm

I have this palette too and I must say Suqqu makes one of the best quality eye shadow palettes. I love the peachy pink shade best. I love your eotd, so beautiful.

Yay, you’re back! I’ve been missing your posts. I love Suqqu, and one of these days I _will_ get my hands on some of their products. Can’t wait to see what other posts you have in store for us.

I have hauled himesango at the same time too! I was so attracted by the novelty of the name “hime” and “sango” and the taupe looks so pretty on some of the swatches!

I am still at the admiring phase before I will dig in and use the palette! Ahhh…. such an indulgence!

Reika May 6, 2012 at 1:31 pm

Congrats darl! I totally understand what you mean, it just looked too beautiful to be used!

fishball May 6, 2012 at 2:59 pm

Someday, I will use it.

you know, I feel like Himesango is a sister to Sakurakaba, except a little more sophisticated. Maybe that’s why they have discontinued Sakurakaba because they are so similar. I love the novelty of both names so I am searching high and low for Sakurakaba so my desire to collect pretty names can be satisfied!

What that said, the peach pink color is very pretty on you with your fair skin. Though I doubt it will show up on me, I still love this kind of tones, maybe will work as an added shimmer on me!

Are you eyeing on the new blend color eyeshadow #12 Konruri?

Reika May 8, 2012 at 12:22 pm

I had no idea Sakurakaba is being discontinued…!!
Probably not, Konruri is a gorgeous palette but I don’t usually wear blue e/s….Are you getting it?

fishball May 8, 2012 at 2:35 pm

I think probably 05 Sakurakaba is a dupe to 11 Himesango and 01 Kakitsubata is similar to 12 Konruri…. I heard Elaine is looking high and low for 01 Kakitsubata… so she may have to consider 12.

I am not really a blue kind of girl… more on the neutral side for me…. though I agree that the blue looks very pretty!

jhoanne June 2, 2012 at 12:39 am

hi where do you buy suqqu products?

Reika June 2, 2012 at 1:48 pm

I bought them in UK at Selfridges.

Jhoanne August 22, 2012 at 8:53 am

Thanks. by the way is this comparable to lunasol’s pink beige e/s palette?

Liddy June 6, 2012 at 1:50 pm

Thank you for the beautiful post! I live in Tokyo and I was so disappointed at the first Suqqu store when I eventually got there (the counter girls were quite plain and bored looking and they hovered over me, not saying anything or letting me touch anything, just standing there!) but this post has revived my love for it 😀
Keep up the good work!

CJ June 30, 2012 at 5:35 am

Is this a limited edition? The colors look so gorgeous on you. I am looking for a cool toned eyeshadow palette and Suqqu looks so tempting. Thanks

Reika June 30, 2012 at 2:42 pm

Yes it was a limited edition from the spring collection.
