I have an important mission to complete today, which is to convince many of you that Suqqu KAKITSUBATA 杜若 (reviewed here) applies just as beautifully as it looks in the palette. I had the same concern as many of you with the blue shade as it is out of my comfortable zone. But I am very confident with Suqqu – just like Visionary Beauty said, it is such a sophisticated brand that is just wearable across the entire range. (her blog also has many wonderful reviews on Suqqu products, check it out!)
EOTD (I have decided to include brushes in this post as this is one of my most frequently asked questions)
Upper Lid:
Applied the matte cream beige color as a base from lash line to brow bone.
Using the Suqqu eyeshadow brush large (reviewed here), applied the shimmery peachy shade all over the eye socket area.
Apply the blue shade along the lash line and the outer v.
Using the Suqqu eyeshadow brush medium (not yet reviewed), layer the shimmery mocha shade on top and blend slightly outward past the crease of the eye.
Lower Lid:
Using the Chanel precision eye brush 24 , intensify the outer corner with the blue shade.
Using the Laura Mercier smoky eye liner brush, smudge the mocha shade into the lower lash line.
Applied the peachy shade on to the inner corner for highlight.
FACE:
Since the Chanel Perfection Lumiere Foundation is about 1 and a half shades darker on me, I mixed it with the Shiseido UV White Protect Base in Green to match my current skin color.
Dior Radiant Base is applied along the cheekbone for extra radiance.
Shiseido natural finish cream concealer is applied under the eye areas.
CHEEKS:
Applied the peach side of Suqqu Balancing Cheek OSHAGECHA from the centre of the cheeks towards the temples.
Contour using the darker side (which is THE perfect contouring shade for fair complexions) along the jawlines, and along the sides of the nose bridge.
Highlight the cheekbones with the purple side of the MAC Hang Loose Mineral blush.
Prepped my lips with the Chanel Hydramax Lipbalm first, then add color with Bobbi Brown Lip Color in Salmon.
Are you convinced yet that Suqqu KAKITSUBATA is wearable?

The entire look is so gorgeous! Thanks for wearing this one, as it’s the only Fall 2011 palette I didn’t get! I love the cheek blush, too!

GORGEOUS! So mysterious and alluring. This makes your already big eyes look HUGE!

That is a beautiful look and I love how you have put the colours together x
My pleasure darl
I am totally convinced that the palette is wearable! This look is SO pretty~~~~
Definitely convinced! This palette actually creates a really neutral but somehow chic look! I love the colors on you, and adoring your blush color too!
You just reminded me of how much I’m wanting to pick up some SUQQU eye brushes after owning the Powder and Blush brush…
Hi Jess you have to get the suqqu eye brushes, they are amazing! esp the suqqu eye socket brush.
That looks so amazing, i love it!!!

Wow, impressive! Looks lovely on you, Reika. Thank you for sharing.
I love the smoky purple 0your Kakitsubata look, especially in combination with your eyes. So pretty. I’m also surprised at how peachy and pretty Bobbi Brown Salmon looks. I’d always imagined it to be orange, but clearly it’s not so!
Dovey Bobbi Brown Salmon is the most gorgeous peach shade out of my stash. My only gripe is that the texture is quite drying therefore I always have to apply a layer of lip balm underneath.
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing, I especially found it helpful on the inclusion of brushes used.

Stunning eyes, and thank you for outlining the steps. It’s very helpful to us makeup novices!
After seeing your swatches, I scoured the Internet in vain for a way to order Suqqu from the US. Does anyone know a way, short of bribing someone in Europe?
You look stunning, absolutely beautiful look!
Oh, how I wish these gorgeous pallets were easier to get in the US! But, thanks to your wonerful descriptions and photos, I think I can pull together something similar.
As always, you really know how to play up your lovely features. This is a beautiful look.
Gorgeous look ! Now it’s just a matter if getting hold of all the lovely Suqqu products!
You’ve convinced me!
The dark blue + mocha combo looks really fantastic. I suspect this palette looks better on you than it would on me, since you are a shade or two lighter than me and a little less yellow . . . but now I’m inspired to try it.
Do you have any suggestions for a similar blue shade?
Hi Reika,
Gorgeous makeup! You know i love all the photos you include to all of your post. The quality of them is amazing. Great job!
I’d like to ask you about the little Chanel brush – number 24! Where have you got it? I’ve looked for it everywhere and can’t find it! I was told that it is discountinued!
Thank you in advance!
Love it! What lashes are you wearing??
Hi Sam I am wearing princess lee criss cross 7, my all time favorite lashes!
Wonderful LOTD, and the blue shade looks extremely wearable.
