Suqqu Cream Glow Lipsticks in SAEBANA and URUMISHU Review and Swatches

November 3, 2011

If people asked me “what was my holy grail lipsticks’ before I had my Suqqu Creamy Glow Lipsticks, I seriously wouldn’t have a clue considering I have a lot of them! I love lipsticks, and I share my love for them equally, they all have their own pros and cons. However after I have tried the Suqqu, I can confirm that they are the perfect lipsticks for me. Just like when you have met the one, at this moment my heart doesn’t have any spare space for other brands! So I got my friend to get me a few more shades from London which I haven’t received yet, but because I am going on holiday very soon I thought I will swatch the ones I have with me for you.

Suqqu Creamy Glow Lipstick has a soft and extremely silky texture – it reminds me of YSL Rouge Volupte which I adore for its buttery texture, but the difference is Suqqu applies smoothly, almost melts into my lips without a single streak, whereas YSL goes on streaky and can enhance lip lines. It feels moist and lightweight, completely camouflage the dryness of my lips and provides a subtle satiny glow. The coverage is medium, and what you see from the tube transforms accurately on to the lips.

I bought three shades from my first purchase, except for the red shade KARAKURENAI that I reviewed here, the rest are the best selling and most wearable shades from what I have heard prior to purchase.

Suqqu Creamy Glow Lipstick in 10 URUMISHU潤朱 is a persimmon coral and contains no shimmers. It’s one of those colors that is flattering on any complexion and looks appropriate for any occasion.

Bottom Line: If you love lipsticks, I urge you to try out the Suqqu Creamy Glow Lipsticks, you will not be disappointed! I can’t wait for more Suqqu that I have ordered recently 🙂

Hi Reika,
This is a great look for summer!

FYI – based on your reviews I recently purchased some Japanese skin care products, including the sheet face masks. I have only used the Puresa collagen mask so far (also bought a Shirojyun clarifying mask) – wow! My skin looks so hydrated – especially the eye area. I needed a less drying cleanser for the winter; the SA recommended Kose Softymo foaming face wash – very soothing and my skin looked so even-toned afterwards. I also picked up the Hadanomy collagen moisturizer. It has a matifying effect and my skin feels so soft and is even-toned. I’ve not had this experience with North American products. I think I am hooked!
Thank you so much for sharing your product experiences.

Hello Amanda, thank you so much for letting me know! Your comment has truly made my day! I am really glad to hear you enjoy using the Japanese skincare 🙂 For cheap hydrating products that contain collagen or hyaluronic acid, Japanese brands are always my number one choice. It seems North American drugstore products only focus on anti-acne and oil controlling…

These lipsticks are beautiful, and you look gorgeous!

Reika November 4, 2011 at 1:48 pm

Thank you Celia 🙂

Jess November 3, 2011 at 5:22 pm

Reika, you are such an awful enabler! 😉

I love the YSL Rouge Voluptés, but I agree that the formula tends to accentuate lip flaws easily. I totally wanna pick up one or more SUQQU Cream Glow lipstick(s)! Now, just have to decided on the color(s), hehe…

The perfect red one was also from this range, wasn’t it?
Totally can’t wait to see more of your SUQQU haul! Btw, my SUQQU eyebrush M and L are ordered! So excited already…

Reika November 4, 2011 at 1:49 pm

Oh are so hooked so Suqqu as well! Congrats on your purchase, hope you will love them as much as I do 🙂

Still have yet to get my hands on a single piece of Suqqu makeup, but that is not for lack of wanting to be sure! I am a lipstick lover as well, and at the moment do not have a holy grail lipstick, though I do enjoy the application (but not the full colour range) of Chanel Rouge Allures as well as Dolce & Gabbana’s Classic Cream range (but it is not _quite_ moisturizing enough for me). I will have to try the Suqqu lip colours one of these days because I, too, find the YSL Rouge Voluptés to streak and emphasize cracks when my lips are not perfectly hydrated or exfoliated. Do the Suqqu lipsticks have a scent? Thanks for sharing, Reika.

Reika November 4, 2011 at 2:00 pm

No, the Suqqu lipsticks don’t have a scent. Suqqu lipsticks have the same coverage as Chanel Rouge Allures, but much more hydrating and silkier!

stephanie November 3, 2011 at 7:56 pm

wow i like the pink one better i think for me, i don’t feel corals work for me >_< xxx

Elizabeth November 4, 2011 at 2:20 am

I’m SO excited for my Dollyleo order to arrive – I have 02 Kyoganoko and 03 Tsuyazakura coming. In swatches, they appeared to be slightly less cool pink than Saebana which I’m hoping suits me – I essentially bought 2 expensive lipsticks sight unseen! I know, I know – I’m totally reckless and living on the edge, lol.

Reika November 4, 2011 at 3:22 am

This is so cool Elizabeth! You got me excited too!! Let me know your thoughts on suqqu lipsticks, I can’t wait to know 🙂
Nice picks, I got my freind to get me the 02,03,04,11, and the Suqqu lady told her that shade 04 has been sold out for months!

Elizabeth November 5, 2011 at 7:09 pm

Oh I definitely will! I bought them based on your rave review of the red shade you purchased (which is just gorgeous on you!). They’re so smooth looking, like it perfects the look of lips – I struggle with dry lips come Fall and Winter, so I’m hoping these will be my cold weather lippies.

Looking forward to seeing swatches of the 4 new Creamy Glows you have coming – especially this covetable number 04!

Elizabeth November 10, 2011 at 4:01 pm

Hi reika! Hope you’re enjoying your vacation – I thought I’d let you know about the Creamy Glows! One word: LOVE. Absolutely incredible, I love how they’re so pigmented, yet you can just dab the colour for a sheerer wash. Incredibly moisturizing, I truly have not tried a similar product, these really are worth the price tag. Shade 02 on me is like a bright bold pink, very flattering and one i’ll likely save for nights out. Shade 03 is a lovely daytime / work colour, really brightens any look yet is suh a natural lip colour.

I’m so thrilled with them, I just ordered 01 Saebaba and an eyeshadow quad (01). DollyLeo has the the eyeshadow quads now, how exciting!

I’m so glad you introduced this brand into my life, lol!

Elizabeth November 10, 2011 at 4:03 pm

oh man, typo city! I meant “such” and “Saebana”!

Daisy November 4, 2011 at 4:50 am

Hi Reika,

Is the Rose Gold Blush also part of Suqqu line? It’s simply amazing. Since we are on the topic of Suqqu, I remember you blogged about a eye palette a few weeks ago (or maybe a month) – the one with a deep navy blue, and I am curious what kind if brush do you use for the upper lash line and outer V. I have been trying to recreate the look with my random Chanel palettes but can’t get it right, it can be just my technique. I have small Asian lid (with a fold if you know what I mean – not monolid)….
Thanks for sharing.

Reika November 4, 2011 at 1:56 pm

Hello Daisy, no the rose gold blush is by a drugstore brand called Sleek. Apparently it’s a popular dupe of Nars 0rgasm blush.
To smudge a dark color along upper lash line, I normally use the Nars smudge brush.
For the outer v, I like to use a soft and fluffy pencil brush, I switch between these:
– suqqu socket brush M,
– Chanel crease brush, and
– Nars small dome eye brush:

Daisy November 4, 2011 at 2:57 pm

Thanks for writing back. I do my the NARs Smudge brush but for some reason I never reach for it, maybe I should. I have also been experiencing with my Shu eyeshadow brush 10F but I will definitely give NARS a try since I have it.

Mercedes November 4, 2011 at 4:55 am

Both lipsticks looks beautiful on you but I think your lashes stole the show!!!!!!!

Reika November 4, 2011 at 2:00 pm

Thank you 🙂

Sheila November 4, 2011 at 7:33 am

I love both of them on you! You know, it is because of your blog posts on Suqqu that I am now obsessed with the brand. I want to get a palette and maybe 1-2 lipsticks to start, but Dollyleo is sold out of all the palettes and most of the lipsticks. I have 04 Yamamomo and 11 Sharegaki on my list. I think 11 Sharegaki is a more muted version of 10. Hopefully they will be back in stock soon.

Thanks for sharing!! <3

Reika November 4, 2011 at 2:05 pm

Thank you Sheila 🙂 I also noticed anything that relates to Suqqu are just flying off the shelf from Dollyleo!
I got my friend to get me 04 and 11 as well! But she only managed to get 11 for me as 04 has been sold out in selfridges for months!

Jess November 7, 2011 at 2:36 am

Yes, totally Reika’s fault to get us obsessed with SUQQU, huh?! 😉

Everything that I have on my list is out of stock at Dollyleo too! :/

Jamilla November 4, 2011 at 8:28 am

They look lovely on you! FYI, these Suqqu lipsticks are VERY SIMILAR to Bobbi Brown Creamy Lip Color, FYI!

Reika November 4, 2011 at 2:06 pm

Thanks for letting me know Jamilla. I HAVE TO try out the BB Creamy lip colors!

Replica November 4, 2011 at 9:13 pm

Both shades look great on you 🙂 Your lashes look amazing btw, what mascara do you use?

Petrina November 5, 2011 at 7:51 am

Petrina November 5, 2011 at 7:53 am

Sorry typo – I meant you look so fab in these photos! 🙂 thankyou so much for these reviews on Suqqu, I would have never forked out the dosh without trying and touching the real thing if not for your reviews – esp the eye shadow brushes

Katherine Tealeaf November 5, 2011 at 7:53 am

I love lipsticks without any shimmer – they look incredibly creamy. How gorgeous!! Have fun in LA!

Annie November 27, 2011 at 10:40 am

New reader here 😉 I really appreciate your helpful reviews on SUQQU. It’s really hard to find info on this brand since it’s so exclusive and high-end. I think I like the bright pink color on you, it brightens your complexion more. Also, may I ask what contacts you’re wearing in these photos? Your eyes look beautiful!

Reika November 30, 2011 at 1:11 pm

Thanks Annie! I was wearing the NEO 4 tone lens in brown, my favorite contacts 🙂

Annie December 4, 2011 at 8:24 pm

Thanks for replying, Reika! I think you’re really pretty ^^ Keep up with the great reviews.

Sonja November 8, 2012 at 10:54 pm
