Some updates about me – part 2

April 29, 2013

Hi everyone, hope you all had a good weekend! I had a very hectic week which left me with no time to blog…but I thought I’ll give you a little update on my pregnancy. I am 6 months now (nearly third trimester!) and it’s been an up and down journey so far that is full of joy and surprises. Being pregnant is really not as glamorous and easy as many of the celebrities make it out to be (unless you are a freak of nature..). Despite the inevitable weight gain from literally head to toe, there are also a lot of unpleasant side effects to cope with which can be overwhelming for the first-time mums.  I have never undergone that much emotional stress and physical pain in my life since I fell pregnant, and on the other hand, I have experienced some of the most precious and magical moments in my life – such as seeing the baby move for the first time, and feeling the first kick from the baby with my hubby. They were so surreal and brought tears to our eyes, and makes you realize that there is nothing more fulfilling than creating another soul.

Pictures were randomly taken at a friend’s wedding on the weekend (yes I have a lot of weddings to go lately!). Picking a dress to go to the wedding is hard enough, and let alone being 6 months pregnant. I couldn’t find anything that fitted me nicely at my usual go-to shops, and in the end I found this cheap dress from Sheike which is versatile enough to be worn many ways.

You are so adorable Reika, you just look amazing. I have no idea what you are going through, I never was pregnant but I can imagine how wonderful it must be to feel the first kick from your baby 🙂 I really like those pictures, you look so happy. This dress suits you perfectly and makes you look so elegant. I am going to a lot of weddings this year as well, for me it is an excuse to get some new dresses and shoes, haha. Take care and I wish you all the best <3

Thank you Annie! You are so kind! Finding maternity wear is very challenging, especially since I don’t like to shop from maternity stores! So I can still wear them as normal clothes once I get back to shape 😛

Dear Reika! I was reading and tearing up! I remember myself going through the same thing couple of year ago. It was exciting, magical and very challenging the same time. I had morning sickness all the way up until the day of my delivery. Remember going in the morning for my delivery, taking a shower and feeling nauseous. That was something:). Everything was looking like i was going to have a natural birth. But then i was not progressing and ended up with a c-section. Do not be afraid of it (I was). As long as you are in good shape you will recover well and fast. You are a beautiful Mom! God Bless You and your family! It is a true pleasure to know you and i am enjoing reading your blog a lot!

Hi Vera, thank you so much for sharing your experience with me! I used to think how hard can being preg be?! Other women have done it and it seems easy on the outside. Until I fell pregnant and have personally experienced the upsides and downs. A lot of women have also opened up to me and told me their stories, and it completely strikes me that most women have gone through some form of drama to have a baby. I have developed a whole new respect for all the mums in this world knowing how difficult the whole process can be!
And thanks for your good wishes 🙂

You look fabulous Reika! I too found pregnancy really hard ( though post delivery was even harder!) and it’s still pretty much non stop till now. One tip – do everything you want to do with or without the hubs before you deliver! And I’ve also super simplified my skin & makeup routine. Gotta get it down pat coz when Seb wakes or cries the whole show is over lol

You look like you are positively glowing! I’ve always said that pregnancy (and being a parent, for that matter!) doesn’t come with a manual, and each experience is unique — but we somehow always adapt! My daughter may be almost 19 now, but I’ve never forgotten the sheer wonder I felt along my entire pregnancy — as well as the heartburn, lol! I wish you wonderful last trimester and a safe & speedy delivery! PS: I notice that you’re “carrying” high – are you expecting a girl? !

Hiya!

I just joined you a few months back. Didn’t know you are I are going through the same journey today as a pregnant mum! 🙂 Congratulations! Btw you look gorgeous in that lovely dress!

I’m also around 6 months pregnant and will be due early Aug, this would be my no3 baby. I have a 5yr old son Jarell and 2 year old girl Clarice. 🙂

We will be starting our 24hours baby shift soon (looking after the little one throughout day and night). Do rest more now! 😉 and most important is stay happy!

Many hugs!
