Every now and then Nars would release a set of limited edition makeup containing some of their best selling products – none of them have caught my attention as I have already collected most of the Nars makeup . When the Nars Blush Bronzer Trio was released a few months ago, it featured some the most iconic Nars shades including the 0rgasm blush, albatross highlighter and the laguna bronzer. I didn’t give it a second thought until I read from BestThingsinBeauty that the blush from the palette is different to the original blush. I was intrigued by what she said as well as her pictures- as much as I love the original 0rgasm shade, the “new” shade just looked so much better! Since this palette was not available in Australia I wasn’t able to swatch them at a counter, so I couldn’t help but order it online.
It comes in a zippered compact nylon case which is handy for traveling – not a big fan of the design but at least the nylon will be more durable than the usual rubber case which I detest…

First thing I did when I received this palette was to compare it with my original blush. I held the swatch under every lighting – it was much to my delight that the “new” shade is much more pink than the original.

Bottom Line: What a lovely surprise! I love the “reformulated” shade more than the originals.

I have Orgasm and Angelika and the Laguna Bronzer and love them all!
I don’t know whether making the “trio” Orgasm a different color was intentional or not (although I think it probably was), but I’m glad the creative folks at Nars did so. It provides a bit more contrast, a bit more “pop” when worn with the golden bronze of Laguna and the gilded ivory of Albatross. The original Orgasm, which has a pronounced orange undertone, would have been just too much of the same thing. As for the packaging, this was a light and easy travel friendly trio that went with me on many a summer get away here in the US. With your summer season approaching in Australia, I’m sure you’ll get plenty of use out of it, too.
I’ve been eyeing this just didn’t no really how bad I needed it. Looks great I love the new shade a lot better

I’m not a fan of Orgasm, I think it makes my skin look dull, actually, but I love the new color! It’s definitely something to look forward to as I’m saving up.
Hello! This is a wonderful post! I too am a fan of Orgasm but I must agree that this ‘trio shade’ is much prettier! I love the pink with the shimmer! I’d love it if this translated to the original orgasm! Thank you for posting ^_^
To be honest, I don’t understand the Orgasm hype after getting my own. There was no oomph about it, and the gold flecks drive me crazy! But the “new” shade does look prettier! Let me send you a dupe; can’t wait to see the pink-peachy prettiness galore! =)

Wow, I can’t believe the O’s are so different! That’s really surprising that they’d reformulate a classic. I have two different pans of O, one of which is in a duo; I should check if they’re the same. This is definitely a staple palette. I love O and laguna.

wow the orgasm trio is very nice! I just bought an Orgasm blush and fell in love with it. Too bad NARS doesn’t have a counter in Singapore so I can’t but the trio.

I wouldnt have known if I didn’t read your review that they are different! I recently purchased Orgasm (finally!) and am in love with it. Its a pretty everyday coral pink color and I think the sheen makes it more versatile even on yellow undertone skin. The one on trio might be a tad too pink for my taste but its still super gorgeous! this is such an awesome product with all the most popular Nars products in it

I think the color pigment is softer than original nars blush.
however it’s so worth to buy.
ooh i’ve never cared for the original orgasm shade but this one looks so pretty, I might consider picking this up
