I went to the Chanel counter to pick up some makeup from the Fall Collection (finally it’s arrived in Australia!), and the lovely SA showcased the upcoming Les Aquarelles De Chanel Collection to me. They had a tester available for preview only and the collection will be for sale some time next month in Australia.
The star product of the collection has to be the Ombres Tissées Iridescent Effects Eyes in Beiges for me. Created in the image of the Haute Couture Collection, it takes on a fine knit texture of silvery, golden and pinkish tones of beige. I couldn’t wait till next month so I quickly snapped some pictures using my Iphone at the shop. So please excuse the poor quality of the pictures for this post 😛
Picture of the tester – without the overspray
Although it’s meant for the eyes (by the sound of its name), I would much prefer to use it as a face highlighter. Quickly swiped the product on my face at the shop.
My initial impression: Don’t be discouraged by the super sparkly finish shown in the swatch. When applied with a fluffy brush and softly swept over the cheekbone, it gives a very youthful soft luminous glow that gleams under light – there wasn’t any visible flecks of silver glitters on my face. The beige undertone blended into the skin beautifully without looking frosty. I cannot wait to get my hands on it!
FYI, Ombres Tissées Beiges will retail for AUD$100.

Really stunning, shimmery colours!
It is beautiful, it adds an airbrushed soft glow to the face 🙂
Lovely! Thanks so much for sharing. It’s looks lovely on the cheeks (you have great skin!) but I’m not sure how I feel about if for eyes, other than inner corner highlight? we’ll see once it’s released I guess.
I know, I wouldn’t use these shimmery pink shadows on my eyes (other than the inner corner) though it looks absolutely stunning on the model’s eyes.
I have been eagerly anticipating the release of this collection ever since seeing the backstage pictures on Café Makeup. I think this is going to be one of those versatile palettes that will easily highlight eyes and cheekbones. It creates a very delicate, watercolor look as the name of the collection so aptly suggests. As with the beautiful Lumière Perlée from Le Blanc, I plan on using it to create the classic ” C ” by highlighting the brow bone and bringing it around on top of the cheekbone. Add a light pop of color from a JC (there are two with this release) for a bit of warmth. I was able to try this out at the counter (tester, but no stock–drat!) and loved the warm glow.
Here in the US, the Beiges is really being promoted more as a highlighter rather than a set of shadows. The new single, Gris Equis, is the to die for eyeshadow.
Hi Eileen thanks for dropping by again 🙂 So did I, I love checking out all the fabulous collection previews on CafeMakeup! Thank you so much for all the information, my Chanel SA has also warranted me (who I have befriended with) that I will love everything from the Les Aquarelles Collection.
Speaking of Lumière Perlée from Le Blanc, it’s not yet available in Australia! It looks so promising based on the reviews I have read. Would love to see some swatches between the two.
Seeing it on your skin makes me want to get this!
You’re right hun – it doesn’t show up with any glitter particles on you and it give you that luminous glow~ So pretty.
I’m going to go check it out when it releases in Aussie~
I wasn’t pleased to see the high amount of sparkles in my swatch, but I was absolutely relieved that they didn’t show up on my face 🙂
Thanks for the great photos, I thought I would skip this product but you’ve convinced me otherwise. Looks lovely on your skintone.
I have learnt to never skip anything by Chanel – always give it a try at the counter 🙂
Absolutely beautiful!! Looking forward to seeing it instore!
Thanks Janice. Me too!
Is this collection available only at the CHANEL Makeup Studio, Myer Sydney City? Last time I have to ask a friend of mine to purchase Byzance collection when she’s on a trip to Sydney…
