Le Blush Cream de Chanel 65 Affinite and 63 Revelation Review, Swatches and FOTD

September 29, 2013

I finally get back into the swing of shopping and wearing makeup again! And my first purchase since my “break” was the Le Blush Cream De Chanel in 65 AFFINITE and 63 REVELATION. I wore these on several occasions and I absolutely adore them. They are now becoming one of my top three favorite cream blushes – on par with my Addiction Cheek Sticks and the Stila Convertibles.

My thought on these cream blushes is that the texture would go well with every skin type. The cream blush is extremely finely milled so it doesn’t settle into the pores. And it is extremely easy to blend into a natural and even finish. I only need a tiny dab of it to create a natural flush of color on the cheeks. The finish strikes a perfect balance between creamy and powdery (see the comparison swatch below), and it sets into the skin seamlessly without enhancing dry patches and pores.

There is no surprise that I picked up two of the most popular pink shades from the range. The must-have 65 AFFINITE which has been out of stock for a long time, and the 63 REVELATION that goes with any makeup look all year round.

65 AFFINITE is a bright strawberry pink with a hint of blue undertone that sets into a semi-matte finish. If you think the color looks quite ordinary when it is swatched on hand, then you should give it a try on the face. It’s one of those ‘magical’ bright pink shades that instantly transforms a dull and lifeless complexion into a fresh and youthful looking one.

63 REVELATION is a warm peachy pink. It is a no brainer soft pink shade that is easy to wear when you are on the go.

Bottom Line: If these blushes can make me look like ‘have slept for 8 hours’ (which indeed I only sleep less than 5 hours a day…), then they really are doing something magical that’s worth the splurge. I bought the Chanel Cream Blush at David Jones for $60 each. Both shades are available here in the US. You can also get them from Harrods with international shipping and VAT Tax deduction available.

I am interested in trying them…but wonder how they swatch & compare to the Armani blushing fabrics?
Would they seems too similar?

both blushes look so great on you. I got the one in 62 Presage(a more coral color) and really love the texture and how little goes such a long way and the staying power is also impressive.

Both colors are lovely on you! I have Presage and Inspiration so far. Revelation is definitely a consideration next 🙂

I have the cream blush in Revelation…I like it but it’s too subtle on my slightly tanner complexion. see….http://www.ourwonderlust.com/ourwonderlust/chanel-cream-blush.html

It looks better on you!

I am loving my Chanel cream blushes ! I bought Presage and Fantastic -the two LE shades-but that pretty pink you have on you cheeks is calling my name!

Wooww!! Your face is glowing.. You look too fresh for someone who just gave birth…Gorgeous!! I’m wondering, will it look patchy or ruin the loose powder that is applied all over the face? thanks

Eileen October 1, 2013 at 4:13 pm

Hi Nelly,

These have been out for several months in the US and the preferred method of application seems to be to lightly pat the color on with the fingers and then blend it out with a brush. My personal choice is to use Chanel’s blending brush but reviewers and commenters have reported excellent results using many different brushes. This new Chanel formulation is quite saturated in color so start with less than you think you’ll need. It’s buildable so you can always add more. Lightly pat the color on your cheek and then use a clean blending brush to blend it out and soften the edges. You’ll have a lovely, naturel-looking “real skin” glow that’s hard to beat.

Now, to answer your question, LOL, this formula dries and sets much faster than traditional cream blushers. It is not sticky or tacky and will not interfere with your finishing powder. I always set my makeup with a light dusting of ultra fine finishing powder and I’ve never had any problems with Chanel’s cream blush “grabbing” my powder or the powder disturbing my blush application.

Thanks so much Eileen!! that is a complete answer to my question. Yes, I had problem with cream blush before that it grabbed the finishing powder that I applied. Maybe it was just me didn’t know how to apply cream blushes =P I might try this one from Chanel 🙂

Nelly, I am 100% agree with Eileen. Chanel cream blush is very easy to apply, and I can easily achieve a natural flush look with my fingers. Should give it a try with a brush next time!

I have bought this blush in Revelation. It appears really pink in me than peach, but love it!! the Chanel SA put it on me using brush and it looks very natural & easy to blend. But I like to use my finger. Thanks for the recommendation & advise, Reika & Eileen. Without your review, I wouldn’t know that Chanel makes these very lovely cream blushes.
