Essie Da Bush – Resort 2011 Collection

May 19, 2011

Essie Da Bush is my latest nail polish buy – it is part of Essie’s 2011 Resort collection. I was eyeing this shade for a long time but it was all sold out until recently.  I have been wearing this shade since the start of this week and received tons of complements on it! It seems everyone has a different interpretation of this color – is it..jade? green? khaki? gray? My conclusion is that it is a complex khaki green color with a gray undertone to it.

Formula of Da Bush is smooth and creamy. Opaque in 2 coats.  Swatched below:

I don’t have this shade in my collection at all. But if I there is a hybrid between Essie Turquoise and Caicos (pictured on the right) and MAC On The Prowl (pictured on the left) – it will be Da Bush.

Hi, I came across your blog. I love reading your blogs, makes want to buy everything.
My newest hobby is collecting nail polishes. I have to get the Essie Turquoise and Caicos, very beautiful color. I recently purchased China Glaze Re-fresh mint also a gorgeous color.
Following you!

I have tried Essie several times, at salons and home. Never ever get a good manicure with that brand. It’s goopy and when it dries, tons of little bubbles form on my nails. Unlucky with Essie.

Sorry to hear essie doesn’t work for you, it is my favorite nail polish brand..
I know Essie can be a bit of hit and miss sometimes…they either make the smoothest formula or the streakiest..

Very nice nail polish shade. I just have to say I absolutely love your FOTD/eyeshadow looks. They are gorgeous! I’m Asian with a double eyelid and it’s really hard to find makeup looks that suit me sometimes especially eyeshadow. I’ve also looked up the Becca Foundation brush you posted earlier and was wondering if they work well with liquid foundation? Thanks!

Thank you so much Audrey! I can understand, when I started wearing makeups I had the same problem as you. It takes a while to find the shades and the makeup techniques that work for you. I would say..start with the neutrals 🙂
The Becca foundation brush works well with liquid foundation, I am going to post a detailed review of it some time next week.
