Diorskin Forever Extreme Fit Foundation Review

June 12, 2011

Diorskin Forever Extreme Fit Foundation was a beautiful mistake for me. I was meant to buy another Dior foundation but accidentally picked this one at the duty free shop. I never heard of this foundation before I had it, so when I read the name  “Extreme Wear Flawless Makeup”, I was under the impression that it was going to be a heavy foundation for people who like full coverage.

To my pleasant surprise, it is a really nice foundation. It lives up to its claim – giving you a flawless coverage but the finish is no way as cakey and heavy as I thought it would be. Some general facts

– Contains SPF 15 and PA+: always a bonus to have more SPF!

– It has a patented Nano-stretch Network Technology, which means this foundation does not transfer, is waterproof and lasts even in extreme conditions. The Hydra gel system also helps to regulate moisture.

Texture: I would say the texture feels like a hybrid of cream and gel.  Doesn’t feel as oily and greasy as a cream foundation but feels richer than a gel texture. As soon as it is applied it melts into the skin and fills up the pores really well. Since the texture is not as watery, it dries up really fast so I have to spread out the foundation as fast as I can, otherwise it can become hard to blend.

Finish: Flawless! Hides most of my imperfections whilst still looking natural. When first applied, it has an airbrushed satin finish which I appreciate but it can be “unnecessary” for a good skin day. What I love about this foundation the most is that it wears better and better as the day goes by. The look becomes more natural and radiant.

Long-Lasting Ability: Probably the best long lasting foundation I have ever used. It doesn’t oxidize on me considering I have quite oily skin. The coverage stays as it is for at least 8 hours of wear – no retouch required.

The only downside I can think of is that it is not as spreadable as a fluid foundation. It is easy to go overboard with this if it is applied with a brush.

My Rating: 9/10

Will I buy it again: YES!

The coverage of the Diorskin LF looks fab, but just so you know, you still look cute with all those freckles 😉

Wow what a beautiful finish, I freak out a little though when I use fast drying foundations haha, the fear of not being able to blend! 🙂

hi, i’m looking for a new foundation which a bit more coverage than Bobbi brown skin foundation. this article makes me think twice if i should try this or lamcome tient miracle. i want a natural look (but less natural than Bobbi brown skin foundation) but not too dewy and according to my country humidity makes me confuse. any suggestion?

by the way, i love your make up. so much natural <3 it's because your good skin or good foundation?

thanks 🙂

Hi summer, I have tried all the foundations you mentioned. The BB is really sheer. Lancome has a better coverage than BB, but more sheer than Dior Forever. The lancome adheres to the skin really well but I find that it oxidizes on me slightly after a few hours of wear..
When I was in Malaysia last time (which is a very humid country!) I was switching between Dior forever and the Chanel Mat Lumiere. They are pretty good in withstanding the humidity and oil control.
To answer your question, it’s good foundation haha 🙂

I was at the Dior counter in DJ today enquiring about the Dior Forever foundation and the lady told me that they’re coming out with a new version to replace the current formula of Dior Forever at the end of August. Have you heard anything about this? I’m wondering if it has already been launched overseas as I want to get my hands on the new formula as I don’t want to wait another 6 weeks.

Hi Karen, thanks for letting me know the news! I am not aware that it has already been launched overseas..however I have noticed many online beauty shops have taken this foundation off..which means they are probably expecting a new one from Dior soon…

What color of the foundation are you wearing? It looks AMAZING on you!

Lovely coverage. It’s so natural without looking over the top. What is the foundation shade?? I’ve gone very wrong with dior and I never went back again. After seeing this, made me want to try it!! 🙂

Hello, wow your blog is the best I’ve come across for makeup reviews! Can you tell me which foundation is better Chanel or Dior? I’m stuck! Thanks 🙂

Hi, Reika!
I used to be a powder foundation wearer but have started using liquid foundation. Which of the dior liquid foundations is good for oily skin? And just as a reference, what shade are you wearing in your pic? It looks perfect on you, invisible almost. Thanks.

Congratulations on your new baby!

Hi Angela, I have only tried the Dior skin nude and the Extreme fit foundations, and I find the second one is better for oil control. I am using the second lightest shade, sorry I don’t remember the shade name anymore..

Thanks very much, Reika. : )
