Ever since I missed out on the infamous Chanel Jade Le Vernis (which was all sold out during pre-order!) I developed a quite odd addiction for green nail lacquers. Unquestionably, the Dior Le vernis in Waterlily 504 was on my must have list for this spring.
Waterlily contains a very subtle degree of emerald green shimmer that I did not even notice until I inspected it closely under the direct sunlight. Dior normally makes the best formulation for nail polishes in my opinion. With waterlily, unfortunately I thought the formula was little on the thick side, so I had to add a few drops of nail polish thinner as I personally prefer to apply 3 thin coats rather than 2 thick coats.

The color is a leafy green on me. Picture was taken with 3 coats of waterlily without a topcoat.
Compared to OPI Mermaid’s Tears (reviewed here) and Essie Turquoise and Caicos which lean towards the cool side of green, Dior Waterlily appears very warm when swatched against them.

Bottom Line: Store your usual vampy and dark shades for now, Spring is all about pretty pastel hues, and Dior Waterlily is one of the most unique shades this season! Dior Le Vernis retails for AUD$39 in Australia.

Such a gorgeous nail polish! May I ask, Reika which hair care products you use? A post about the products would be lovely!
Thanks Jamie! Oh I use a lot of hair products, sure I will do a post about it soon
That would be great! Thank you!
Does it have the rose scent? I much prefer Opi’s Mermaid’s Tears! I have the Essie one too n love the shade but found the formula absolutely horrible
It supposed to have a rose scent, but all I can smell is the acetone! hehe agree, mermaid’s tears is a more flattering green shade, particularly for Asians
Soooo pretty! Like you, I developed a particular fondness for mint green nail polishes after Chanel Jade! I’m still agonising on whether I can justify the ££ for this particular one though; as much as I desperately want it, I need to save money for the Suqqu Spring collection!
Just gorgeous… I choose ‘Waterlily’ over the other two, it’s just amazing!!! I need it!!!
Thank you
Auxi
I also have Mermaid Tears by OPI. Waterlily is such a gorgeous shade for the Spring time, I’m glad I picked it up. LOL. I’m still wearing Vamp by Chanel!
What a pretty colour! I used to be so scared of green nail polish but it is now on of my favourite shades to wear.
A very pretty color for the spring.
This colour is incredible, so beautiful!
I’m on the fence on this one. Amazing colour, but its one of those colours that I think will make my hands look “dirty/untidy”. Its probably just in my head LOL
Hi Reika, This is such a pretty spring green! Your comparisons were quite helpful— there is definitely no aqua blue unlike the other colors.
Dior Waterlily is a really cute color on you, Reika!
