Chanel Fauve and Taupe Grise FOTD

May 23, 2011

Chanel Ombre Essentielle in Fauve is the eyeshadow I have been reaching for the most ever since I bought it. As I mentioned in my previous review post,  I like to use it as a wash all over the eye socket area, it just really complements my skin tone.  This is a complete FOTD using Fauve pairing with Taupe Grise.

Eye products used:

1. Nars Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base

2. Chanel Ombre Essentielle in Fauve all over the eye socket area as a base and along the lower lash line

3. Bobbi Brown in Taupe along the crease

4. Chanel Ombre Essentielle in Taupe Grise at the outer V and along the outer part of the lower lash line

5. Nars Larger than Life volumising Mascara on the lower lashes

Princess Lee cross 7 False Eyelashes is used on upper lashes, my holy grail lashes!!

A closer look at the lashes. Princess Lee looks so natural whilst making your lashes look fuller, people can never tell I wear falsies if it is by princess lee.

Overall Look:

Face and Lip Products Used:

Foundation: Maquillage Liquid Lasting UV by Shiseido

Blush: Nars DT

Concealer/Highlighter: Chanel Corrector in10 Beige Rose

Lipstick: YSL Rouge Pur Couture in 06 Rose Bergamasque (reviewed here)

Lipgloss: Stila lip glaze in blushmaquillage-liquid-lasting-uv

You are sooooo beautyful! I loved your makeup and got same eyeshadow and lipstick.Thank’s for sharing! 🙂 I would like to know what shade of foundation you are wearing?Looks beautyful on you.Do you like it?Is it worth getting it? Thank’s!

Reika June 1, 2011 at 2:12 pm

Thank you 🙂
I hope you like the e/s and the lipstick as much as I do.The foundation shade I was wearing is 10. I do like it – it is a long lasting foundation with a creamy texture. It has quite a matte finish so I won’t recommend it if you are after a dewy look. It provides a medium coverage that is why it photographs really well. Let me know if you need more info on it 🙂

I am eagerly awaiting Fauve to make it to the States! In the mean time, I will have to drool over your pretty pics and your lovely EOTD combo. Goodness, I want this eye shadow color!

Reika June 27, 2011 at 1:43 pm

Thanks Jenn 🙂 I have read fauve will arrive in the states soon..although I can understand how frustrating it can be waiting for a product without knowing the release date!

Fauve is supposed to come out in August in the US, according to what I read from some other blogs. I’m excited to get it too!

By the way, I agree that those lashes look totally natural and I would never have known you were wearing falsies if you didn’t specify. Where do you buy your Princess Lee lashes? Any good sites that you would recommend?

Reika June 29, 2011 at 3:06 pm

Princess Lee is the most sought after false lashes in Asia. All the celebs are using this brand hence there is a long waiting list for it. I have also noticed there are so many fake princess lee lashes being sold on the internet…
At the moment I have only found one online seller that sells authentic princess lee lashes, here is the link:
Btw it comes in 6, 7 and 8 styles. 7 is the most natural.
Love your blog btw, you are so pretty 🙂

Thank you! I will have to look into those lashes. I haven’t worn falsies in a long time, but they come in handy for special occasions.

I didn’t realize that it was a Taiwanese brand as it sounded Korean. I have had good luck with Korean falsies too, if you are interested in trying other brands!

Reika July 7, 2011 at 1:52 pm

I’m always keen to try anything new! Please let me know what are the korean brands you like!
I love wearing falsies, I normally wear the natural looking ones on the weekends (if i’m going out) and the fancier styles for special occasions.

I think it was a brand called “Sassi”– I picked up several pairs in Koreatown (LA) a few years ago, and they are cheap and natural looking. They may not be up to your Princess Lee standards, of course 🙂

Wow! That is one of the most beautiful “natural” makeup looks I’ve ever seen! It certainly highlights your natural beauty ~ you look gorge-wah 😉 Lovely photos too.

Reika July 7, 2011 at 2:22 pm

Thank you very much for your kind comment Pam! After years of experimenting with makeup, I have came to realize the “natural” makeup look suits me the best 😛
