Chanel Fall 2011 Collection Haul

August 4, 2011

Chanel Fall 2011 Collection is finally landed in Australia! If you have read my previous post you would know I picked up some items from this collection. Thanks to all the fabulous beauty bloggers who have reviewed this collection extensively – I had a fairly good idea in terms of what I wanted to get.

I love everything I picked out, at the end of day it’s hard not to love anything by Chanel! Of course I could have easily bought more Illusion D’Ombre Eyeshadow but I figured that these are the absolute essential shades for me for now.

chanel-fall-2011-collection-haulClockwise from top right:

– Illusion D’Ombre Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow in 83 Illusoire (AUD$48)

– Illusion D’Ombre Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow in 82 Emerveille (AUD$48)

– Joues Contraste Powder Blush in 68 Rose Ecrin (AUD$71)

– Levres Scintillantes Glossimer in 156 Pampille (AUD$46)

– Le Vernis Nail Colour in 529 Graphite (AUD$39)

I am not going to review these products as there are so many greats reviews already. My personal picks are Cafe Makeup and The Beauty Look Book – who wouldn’t appreciate their reviews and beautiful pictures?! Since these products are still brand new, I felt they deserve to be photographed. Hopefully they will serve the purpose of creating some lemming for you 🙂 I have also taken some pictures of possible dupes for you.

Let’s start with Illusion D’Ombre Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow in 82 Emerveille versus Giorgio Armani Eyes To Kill in 08 Nola

Compared to the Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill in 08 (reviewed seperately here), the Chanel is more peachy, and less metallic.

I forgot to include Chanel Tweed pink in the pictures, you can find the review here. Compared to the other two, Chanel Rose Ecrin is a neutral pink.

Levres Scintillantes Glossimer in 156 Pampille (middle) compared to 87 Seashell (left) and 25 Voyage (right)

Le Vernis Nail Colour in 529 Graphite – so beautiful

Graphite compared to Black Pearl and Steel – it is striking that they look completely different even though they all have an undertone of black.

Illusion D’Ombre Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow in Epatant – I didn’ see it at the counter…

Chanel Quad in Prelude – Pity that Australia only has the baked version and I am trying to get my hands on the US version.

Bottom Line: Chanel Collections never fail to impress us. The nail lacquers and the Illusion D’Ombre Eyeshadows are the must haves. I can’t wait to wear them 🙂

Wow I think I might have to pick up Rose Ecrin eventually too! I pretty much got everything else you have. I ended up liking much more than I originally thought I would, and in turn spending much more than I thought I would.

You should, Rose Ecrin would look absolutely stunning on your complexion.
Never underestimate the power of Chanel..*wink*

Very pretty! I love the Chanel Quad – it’s really creamy and flattering to Asian complexions!

Wow! I love your swatches. I’m gutted we have to wait until the 19th for this collection in the UK but I’m definitely buying all of it 🙂 are the shadows of the same consistency as the Perlees quint – not quite cream, not quite powder? Enjoy your pretties!

Hi Clair, thanks for dropping by 🙂 Don’t worry it won’t be long, I’m sure you will like them as much as I do!
Sabrina did a very detailed comparison between the shadows pots and the Perlees quint, have you seen it? I completely agree with her.

Wow – a great collection from Chanel~

I agree with you that the Chanel #83 is SUCH a must-have. A stunning shade.. The swatch is making me want to get it =)

Rose Ecrin is also a gorgeous shade~

Love your picks!! I’m with you 100% for wanting the U.S. version of the quad (I’m in Canada, we get the baked version too). One of my besties recently went on a trip to Baltimore, so I had her pick up Prelude for me! It’s 156% worth hunting for the American release, it’s incredible! Lovely pigementation and great dimension to the shades. The baked versions just don’t compare (imo of course!)

Can’t wait until my Chanel counter gets the shadows, Illusoire and Mirifique are my must-haves!

Reika August 6, 2011 at 3:44 pm

Everyone prefers the US version, I just don’t understand why Chanel is still releasing the baked version…? 🙁
Love Mirifique too, I passed it up because I don’t normally wear black smoky eyes…

All those creamy taupe-y purples!!! tbh, Night Rider is what I really wanted the purple side of Nouveau Monde to be (I know I keep bringing it up, but I have a really love/hate relationship with my Nars duos right now). I really want those Chanel eyeshadows!

Reply

Reika August 6, 2011 at 3:50 pm

Knowing that you love purple, I’m sure you would love Chanel Illusoire 🙂
Just give the Nouveau Monde a break, you might fall in love with it all over again after some time 🙂

You captured the mauve sheen from Illusoire very well, mine looked pewter through and through. I’m itching to head back to the counters and get FANTASME.

I’m itching to get the rest of the shades!

Love ur pix! I wasn’t that impressed with the Eyeshadow (prefer Armani Eyes to Kill & MAC Big Bounce) but ur pix of Illusionaire makes me want to pick it up!! The blush is gorgeous.

Between the GA ETK and the Chanels, I still can’t decide which one I prefer more..! They are both perfect in their own way.

I’ve finally gone out and got #82 Emerveille and #84 Epatant – so gorgeous!! I really didn’t think I would like them but your beautiful photos made me change my mind – thankyou 🙂

I’ve been wearing Graphite all week 🙂 I’m glad you were finally able to get your hands on this collection! Hope you love it!

I’m still debating back and forth regarding whether or not to get the cream shadows since I don’t usually like creams. While Illusoire is beautiful, I saw a photo of Epatant from the runway show that I’m kind of obsessed with. Still deciding if I should go get it!

Reika August 14, 2011 at 12:29 pm

You should get both shades! I am going to get my hands on the rest of the shades very soon 🙂
