Along with the Lumiére Sculptée Highlighting Powder, I have also picked up the Rouge Allure Extrait De Gloss in 517 Triomphal and the Chanel le Vernis in Rouge Carat from the Chanel 2011 Holiday Collection, which explains why I am painted in red today.
To be honest I wasn’t that excited about this collection after seeing the testers. There were some lovely lippies in pink, rose and beige, but none of them really stood out for me as I am sooo in love with my Suqqu Creamy Glow lipsticks at the moment, so I would rather buy more Suqqu as the formulation is just perfection. Chanel Rouge Allure Extrait De Gloss in Triomphal was a black horse as it wasn’t on my shopping list initially, but after putting in on my lips there was a ‘wow’ moment. I always adore the formulation of Rouge Allure Extrait De Glosses (reviewed here), and this one is just as good – semi opaque with a watery and translucent finish.
Triomphal is a striking rich red with fuchsia flecks but without grittiness. If you are scared of wearing red lips, Triomphal is a good starting point. The translucency and the moist finish makes it more wearable and youthful looking.
Chanel Le Vernis Rouge Carat is a stunning shimmery red with tons of magenta micro glitters! If you are into Chanel nail polishes, this one should not be missed.

These two colors complement each color so well! My pick from the 2011 collection would be Sweet Beige glossimer— I haven’t decided whether I really need it yet because it is a pretty plain color, but I know I would use it a lot!

I didn’t get these two from the holiday collection but I am tempted to go back and take a look. The RA extrait de gloss in Fatale is my favorite red, so maybe Triomphal may be worth a look? Btw your eyemakeup looks phenomenal here, what are you wearing?
Also I was completely blown away by the Noir Ivoire duo, I know it looks boring but the black is really something else, almost glowey- not shimmery & quite different from anything I own, check it out if you want to.

Hi Daisy, I still prefer Suqqu creamy glow KARAKURENAI as it’s a true red, whereas Chanel Triomphal leans a little pink to me under some lighting. However the suqqu requires more care for application.

As for the holiday collection, it might be easier to tell you what I didn’t get, ha! I got everything you did, plus the Noir-Ivoire eyeshadow duo and Rouge Allure in Famous. I love to layer Famous with Triomphal; each enhances the other so that the result is an intense yet wearable red lip. You can see photos of the combo on my blog if you scroll down a bit.

I have to agree with you, upon first glance I wasn’t thrilled with the collection, but I found a few favorites here and there.
I bought Rouge Carat and Sweet Beige immediately, and I’m thinking about getting Sparkle d’Or, the gold liquid liner, and one of the red RA Extrait de Gloss. I need to try on Triomphal and see how it looks on me– totally agree it seems like an easy introduction to a full red lip! I still haven’t opened the D&G red lipstick I bought almost 2 months ago b/c I’m scared to wear it ^_^
